Road tripping around Savaii

I know this is late, but below are the pictures of our road trips around the beautiful island of Savaii in Samoa.

Hanging at the waterfall
First trip, we hired Sam to drive us around to do some site seeing, plus some provisioning.  We paid for a half day adventure, but it was definitely a full day.

Sam put on quite a show at the Alofaaga Blowholes.  He threw a pile of coconut husks into the blowhole and they came shooting out.  They were powerful - check out the video.

PS:  I don't think we should have been standing that close!

Savaii is a big island, so we spent a lot of time just enjoying the beautiful views as Sam drove us around and explained the Samoan culture.  We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

The second road trip, we rented a car and drove all the way around the island - another all day trip.

Doug did an excellent job of driving on the wrong side of the road!
Along the coast

So many beautiful beaches and villages - hope you get a chance to visit Samoa one of these days.

You will find it to be a very special place.

Enjoy the pictures!

PS:  We are loving Savusavu, Fiji and meeting so many wonderful people. Can't believe we have been here a week all ready...

Today, Doug and I got matching haircuts.  How cute - not!

Beautiful rainbow, perfect beaches, but that pig crossing takes the cake!
